Black Women Leaders Network in the Public Administration

Course “From Challenges to Empowerment of Black Women in Leadership Roles” offered by Black Women Leaders Network in the Public and taught by Professor Ediane Ribeiro.

With only 15% of leadership positions in the federal government held by Black and Brown* women, Black Women Leaders Network in the Public Sector of the National School of Public Administration (Enap) seeks to change this reality through training programs, mentorship, and support networks. Its work is grounded in two training, through courses and group mentoring sessions, and strengthening connections by promoting knowledge exchange among Black women in the public sector.

In 2024, 69 members of the Network holding leadership positions were directly impacted by these initiatives.

“The idea is to encourage plurality in public policies, because when there is no diversity in the public administration, it can be seen that good public policies are not developed for the population.”

Betânia Lemos

President of Enap
“We have the opportunity to meet black women who have been doing important work all over the country, often without proper visibility. This program represents a chance to give exposure, promote training, strengthen the quilombo community and boost a collective vision that contributes to restructuring the way black women are promoted and included in the Brazilian public administration.”
